URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH NUMBER 893 NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER OLNEY MD 935 AM EDT TUE SEP 9 2008 THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA DELAWARE EASTERN MARYLAND NEW JERSEY PARTS OF SOUTHEAST NEW YORK PARTS OF EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA PARTS OF NORTHERN VIRGINIA COASTAL WATERS EFFECTIVE THIS TUESDAY MORNING AND AFTERNOON FROM 935 AM UNTIL 400 PM EDT. HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS. THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 70 STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 25 MILES NORTH OF BRIDGEPORT CONNECTICUT TO 15 MILES SOUTHWEST OF PATUXENT RIVER MARYLAND.
