According to the Southwest Regional News story, an area of low pressure building over West Texas will spread a mix of rain and snow across southern Colorado, New Mexico, West Texas and the panhandles of Texas and Oklahoma. By Sunday, the storm will shift to the east. A swath of soaking rain and locally heavy, gusty thunderstorms will unfold over the central Gulf Coast Sunday and then perhaps on to the balance of the Southeast Monday. The action of cold air in place at low levels, combined with warm air being lifted aloft, will enhance the precipitation
