URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED TORNADO WATCH NUMBER 866 NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER OLNEY MD 1000 AM EDT TUE AUG 26 2008 THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF PARTS OF FLORIDA PANHANDLE A LARGE PART OF GEORGIA SMALL PART OF SOUTHERN NORTH CAROLINA MUCH OF WESTERN AND CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA EFFECTIVE THIS TUESDAY MORNING AND EVENING FROM 1000 AM UNTIL 700 PM EDT. TORNADOES...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS. THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 80 STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 35 MILES NORTHEAST OF SPARTANBURG SOUTH CAROLINA TO 50 MILES EAST SOUTHEAST OF PANAMA CITY FLORIDA.
