A severe thunderstorm warning remains in effect until 545 pm edt for eastern montgomery county,
At 517 pm edt, national weather service doppler radar continued to indicate a severe thunderstorm capable of producing penny size hail, and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. This storm was located near north potomac, or near rockville, moving east at 17 mph.
Other locations in the warning include but are not limited to montgomery village, potomac, Washington grove, derwood, garrett park, olney, wheaton, spencerville, sandy spring, chevy chase view, brinklow, ashton, white oak, silver spring, norbeck, glenmont.colesville, burtonsville, brookeville and aspen hill.
