URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH NUMBER 818 NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER OLNEY MD 135 PM EDT SUN AUG 10 2008 THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA MARYLAND SOUTHEAST PENNSYLVANIA NORTHERN VIRGINIA FAR EASTERN PANHANDLE OF WEST VIRGINIA COASTAL WATERS EFFECTIVE THIS SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 135 PM UNTIL 700 PM EDT. HAIL TO 1.5 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS. THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 65 STATUTE MILES NORTH AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 30 MILES NORTHEAST OF DOVER DELAWARE TO 35 MILES NORTH NORTHWEST OF STAUNTON VIRGINIA.
