URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH NUMBER 774 NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER OLNEY MD 350 PM EDT WED JUL 30 2008 THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA MUCH OF MARYLAND DELAWARE NEW JERSEY ESTERN PENNSLYVANIA CENTRAL VIRGINIA SMALL PART OF EASTERN WEST VIRGINIA SMALL PART OF WESTERN LONG ISLAND COASTAL WATERS EFFECTIVE THIS WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 350 PM UNTIL 800 PM EDT. HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS. THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 65 STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 40 MILES NORTH NORTHWEST OF SCRANTON PA TO 15 MILES WEST SOUTHWEST OF NORFOLK VIRGINIA .
