URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH NUMBER 760 NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER OLNEY MD 1200 PM EDT SUN JUL 27 2008 THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF CONNECTICUT WESTERN AND CENTRAL MASSACHUSETTS SOUTHWESTERN MAINE NEW HAMPSHIRE NORTHEASTERN NEW JERSEY EAST-CENTRAL AND SOUTHEASTERN NEW YORK NORTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA VERMONT EXCEPT NORTHWEST PORTIONS COASTAL WATERS EFFECTIVE THIS SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM NOON UNTIL 800 PM EDT. HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS. THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 90 STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 60 MILES WEST OF ISLIP NEW YORK TO 20 MILES EAST NORTHEAST OF NEWPORT VERMONT.
