URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH NUMBER 597 NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER OLNEY MD 225 PM EDT SUN JUN 22 2008 THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF EXTREME NORTHWEST CONNECTICUT EXTREME WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS CENTRAL AND WESTERN NEW YORK MUCH OF PENNSYLVANIA SOUTHERN VERMONT LAKE ERIE EFFECTIVE THIS SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 225 PM UNTIL 1000 PM EDT. HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS. THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 85 STATUTE MILES NORTH AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 25 MILES NORTHWEST OF PITTSBURGH PENNSYLVANIA TO 30 MILES SOUTHEAST OF GLENS FALLS NEW YORK.
