URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH NUMBER 595 NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER OLNEY MD 130 PM EDT SUN JUN 22 2008 THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA WESTERN AND CENTRAL MARYLAND ALL OF NEW JERSEY ALL OF DELAWARE CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA NORTHERN VIRGINIA EASTERN WEST VIRGINIA PANHANDLE COASTAL WATERS EFFECTIVE THIS SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 1:30 PM UNTIL 1100 PM EDT. HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS. THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 55 STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 20 MILES EAST SOUTHEAST OF STAUNTON VIRGINIA TO 30 MILES NORTH NORTHWEST OF SCRANTON PA.
