URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED TORNADO WATCH NUMBER 503 NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER OLNEY MD 310 PM EDT TUE JUN 10 2008 THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA WESTERN AND CENTRAL MARYLAND ALL OF NEW JERSEY ALL OF DELAWARE CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA NORTHERN VIRGINIA EASTERN WEST VIRGINIA PANHANDLE COASTAL WATERS EFFECTIVE THIS TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 310 PM UNTIL 1000 PM EDT. HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS. THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 55 STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 20 MILES EAST SOUTHEAST OF STAUNTON VIRGINIA TO 30 MILES NORTH NORTHWEST OF SCRANTON PA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.
