...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 7 PM EDT SATURDAY...
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN OLNEY MD ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 7 PM EDT SATURDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.
* PRECIPITATION TYPE...SNOW.
* ACCUMULATIONS...3 TO 6 INCHES OF SNOW.
* TIMING...RAIN WILL OVERSPREAD MONTGOMERY CARROLL, BALTIMORE COUNTIES THIS EVENING...AND CHANGE OVER TO SNOW TONIGHT. THE HEAVIEST SNOW WILL FALL FROM THE PREDAWN HOURS SATURDAY INTO SATURDAY AFTERNOON. THE ACCUMULATING SNOW WILL END BY MID AFTERNOON. AND ALL SNOW SHOULD TAPER OFF BY EVENING.
* IMPACTS...HEAVY WET SNOW WILL LIKELY ACCUMULATE ON TREES. WITH FOLIAGE STILL ON TREES...THE SNOW MAY LEAD TO BROKEN TREE LIMBS AND POWER OUTAGES. HAZARDOUS TRAVEL ON SNOW-COVERED ROADS IS ALSO POSSIBLE.
* TEMPERATURES...IN THE MID 30S.
* WINDS...NORTHEAST 5 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 25 MPH.
