THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN OLNEY MD HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY MORNING THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON. THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.
* PRECIPITATION TYPE...SNOW ACROSS THE NORTHWESTERN PORTION OF THE COUNTIES. RAIN AND SNOW MIX FARTHER SOUTH.
* ACCUMULATIONS...POTENTIAL FOR FIVE OR MORE INCHES OF SNOW ACROSS THE NORTHWEST PORTION OF THE COUNTIES.
* TIMING...RAIN AND SNOW MIX LATE TONIGHT WILL CHANGE TO SNOW SATURDAY MORNING AND CONTINUE THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON.
* IMPACTS...HEAVY WET SNOW WILL LIKELY ACCUMULATE ON TREES. WITH FOLIAGE STILL ON TREES...THE SNOW MAY LEAD TO BROKEN TREE LIMBS AND POWER OUTAGES. HAZARDOUS TRAVEL ON SNOW-COVERED ROADS IS ALSO POSSIBLE.
* TEMPERATURES...HIGH TEMPERATURES SATURDAY WILL BE IN THE MID TO UPPER 30S...BUT TEMPERATURES WILL FALL INTO THE LOWER 30S SATURDAY AFTERNOON.
