The NWS in sterling virginia has issued a dense fog advisory, which is in effect until 8 am est Friday.
Areas of dense fog are developing from the winchester and hagerstown area east to near the interstate 95 corridor. Conditions may improve late tonight west of the blue ridge.
A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
