A weak cold front over Pennsylvania has allowed for a few showers to build over the higher elevations in the mountains to the west of DC. We expect much of that light shower activity to stay further to the west and dissipate as it moves eastward. Overnight, expect to see partly cloudy skies with mild temperatures only falling into the 50s.
Wednesday will remain warm with highs near the 80 degree mark under partly cloudy skies. Added moisture ahead of an advancing area of low pressure will help increase the likelihood of thunderstorms in the afternoon hours on Thursday. Highs should reach the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. Friday, an area of low pressure is expected to track through the region, giving a continued chance for showers and thunderstorms, with highs only reaching the lower 70s.
The weekend appears to begin with a decent start under partly cloudy skies and seasonable temperatures in the mid 70s. Sunday will bring back the chances for rain as another area of low pressure swings through the DC area.
