SPECAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OLNEY MD 240 PM EST SUN FEB 06 2011 SNOW ON TAP AGAIN FOR WEDNESSDAY NIGHT AND THURSDAY…… THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IS FORECASTING A 40% CHANCE OF SNOW WEDNESSDAY NIGHT AND A 50% CHANCE OF SNOW THURSDAY CLEARING OUT BY THURSDAY NIGHT AND BEEING QUITE COLD. MODELS ARE IN SEMI AGREEMENT AS TO WHAT WILL HAPPEN BUT THERE ARE STILL DIVERERANT MODELS OR OUT LYERS THAT INDICATE SOMETHING DIFFERENT.. THIS STORM WILL BEHAVE MORE LIKE THE STORMS OF 2010 BRINGING SNOW TO THE MIDATLANTIC AREA AND LIGHT SNOW TO THE NORTH EAST . ITS STILL TO EARLY TO TELL EXACT AMMOUNTS BUT THE TEMPS ARE ABOVE FREEZEING TODAY IN THE LOW 40’S WITH MELTING OF THE SNOWPACK GOING ON. WITH A PASSING ARTIC COLDFRONT ON MONDAY WITH RAIN THAT SHOULD USHER IN COLDER MORE ARTIC AIR INTO THE AREA DURRING THE WEEK. MAKING THE SET UP FOR SNOW POSSIBLE AS A STORM COMES OUT OF TEXAS AND THE SOUTHERN STATES. IT IS STILL TO EARLY TO TELL THE EXACT TRACK OF THE STORM AND AS TO THE PRECIPITATION TYPE THAT WILL FALL ON WEDNESSDAY AND THURSDAY SO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IS CONTINUEING TO MONITOR IT AND WLL ISSUE WATCHES WHEN THE EVENT GETS CLOSER TO THE TIME OF PRECIP ONSET.
