SPECAL WEATHER STATEMENT NOAA NATONAL WEATHER SERVICE OLNEY MARYLAND 1230 PM EST SUNDAY JANUARY 9, 2011
SNOW ON TRACK FOR MONDAY NIGHT AND TUESDAY AND TUESDAY NIGHT…
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS INCREASED THE CHANCE FOR SNOW FROM 60% TO 70% TUESDAY DURRING THE DAY AND 60% AT NIGHT ON TUESDAY WITH A 20% CHANCE OF SNOW ON MONDAY NIGHT.
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OLNEY MARYLAND HAS GONE AHEAD AND ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW FOR THE ACCUMULATIONS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES IS THE MODEL CONCENCIOUS THAT WOULD BE THE STORM TOTAL FOR THE OLNEY AREA WITH HIGHER AMOUNTS TO THE EAST. ANY DEVATION WESTWARD AND THE ADVISORY WILL HAVE TO BE CHANGED THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY GOES INTO EFFECT ON MONDAY AT 700 PM EST AND RUNS THROUGH MIDNIGHT TUESDAY, SNOW IS EXPECTED TO LAST TILL 1 AM TUESDAY AND END FROM SOUTH TO NORTH AS THE STORM PULLS AWAY FROM THE MID ATLANTIC AREA TOWARD NEW ENGLAND. THERE ARE MODEL OUT LIERS THAT SAY THE STORM WILL COME CLOSER TO THE COAST AND COULD BRING UPWARD OF 5 INCHES OR GO FARTHER AWAY FROM THE COST BRINGING US NOTHING LIKE THE CHRISTMAS DAY STORM THAT MISSED US WITH THIS UNCENTENCY IN THE MODELS .
PEOPLE ARE URGED TO STAY ON TOP OF THE LATEST FORECASTS AS CONDITIONS CHANGE AND OTHER WATCHES AND WARNINGS MAY BE NEEDED IN THE AREA.
