URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OLNEY MD 500 PM EST SAT DEC 25 2010
...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6AM SUNDAY TO 6AM EST MONDAY ...
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN OLNEY MD HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM SUNDAY TO 6 AM EST MONDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.
* PRECIPITATION TYPE: SNOW.
* ACCUMULATIONS: SIX TO TEN INCHES.
* TIMING: BEGINNING SATURDAY BY MID-EVENING AND LASTING UNTIL AROUND NIGHTFALL SUNDAY. THE GREATEST INTENSITY WILL BE SUNDAY NOON AND AFTERNOON AND EVENING.
* IMPACTS: TRAVEL WILL BECOME HAZARDOUS DUE TO SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATIONS OF SNOW. BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW ARE EXPECTED WITH GREATLY REDUCED VISIBILITIES AT TIMES. TRAVEL IS STRONGLY DISCOURAGED.
* WINDS: NORTHERLY WINDS INCREASING TO 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS OVER 40 MPH EXPECTED.
