...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 8 PM SATURDAY TO 9 PM EST SUNDAY ...
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN OLNEY MD HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM SUNDAY TO 1 PM EST MONDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.
* PRECIPITATION TYPE: SNOW.
* ACCUMULATIONS: SIX TO TEN INCHES.
* TIMING: BEGINNING SATURDAY BY MID-EVENING AND LASTING UNTIL AROUND NIGHTFALL SUNDAY. THE GREATEST INTENSITY WILL BE SUNDAY NOO AND AFTERNOON AND EVENING.
* IMPACTS: TRAVEL WILL BECOME HAZARDOUS DUE TO SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATIONS OF SNOW. BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW ARE EXPECTED WITH GREATLY REDUCED VISIBILITIES AT TIMES. TRAVEL IS STRONGLY DISCOURAGED.
* WINDS: NORTHERLY WINDS INCREASING TO 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS OVER 40 MPH EXPECTED.
