The exact track of the storm as it moves eastward will determine how much rain falls over drought-ravaged areas of the Southeast Sunday into Monday. A more northerly track, which now appears more likely, would send the steadiest and greatest rain into the Appalachians and the Tennessee Valley, with only spotty downpours reaching the coastal areas of Georgia and the Carolinas. A more southerly track would allow more substantial and steadier rain to reach the hardest hit areas of drought in Alabama, Georgia and the Carolinas.
