Remarks: Fred continues to strenthen should become a hurricane later tonight or wednessday. the recent TRMM and MSCAT passes show a well defined center of circulation and from the first visible images of the day would seem to sugest a eye starting to form the 55 kts is a conservitive estimate of the winds the Quickscat pass show a well devloped central core and there is curved banding starting to show on the visible imiagery and that would indicate a healthyer system in the short term.
